The City of Leesburg is expecting Coreslab to close on its purchase of 75 acres in the city’s 470 Commerce Park in about 10 days, said Michael Rankin, the city’s economic development director.
Coreslab, an architectural concrete producer of precast and precast concrete products for parking garages, stadiums and other large concrete structures, announced in February that it is expanding and moving its manufacturing facility from Orlando to Lake County. Ground breaking is scheduled for the fall. Plans are for the plant to be operating in early 2016.
Coreslab operates across the U.S. and in Canada.
The plant is expected to employ 55 in the beginning, with the capacity to expand to 100 workers, the February announcement said.
The commerce park, with 640 acres, is at Florida’s Turnpike and County Road 470, a prime location for companies that need to move product. The site is zoned for fast-track approvals of industrial development. It also has access to public utilities as well as high-speed fiber-optic data communications.
