Three new restaurants are in the works for a now vacant parcel in Clermont at 13322 S.R. 50, west of the interchange with U.S. 27.
Equinox Development has a contract to purchase the 7.16 acres of timberland, conditional to Clermont approvals, Ryan Stahl, CEO and founder of Equinox, told GrowthSpotter.
The Clermont City Council recently approved landscaping variances for the parcel, which has been named Clermont Ridge.
“It’s extremely complicated from the site plan prospective,” said Stahl.
He said he could not release the names of the restaurants planned for the development, however, at the recent Clermont City Council meeting, he mentioned the restaurant names Pollo Tropical, Cheddars and Zoey’s as future tenants, according to city records of the meeting.
Equinox is keen on that area for investment. Last June it bought the Clermont Regional Shopping Center at State Roads 27 and 50, which is catty-cornered across 50 from the proposed restaurants site. That shopping center, with Kmart as its anchor tenant, is s 98 percent leased.
About two years ago Equinox built a Wawa nearby as well.
“It’s at an excellent location at S.R. 50 and US 27. That’s Main and Main,” Trey Vick, Equinox’s president told Growthspotter in June.
Equinox is also developing land near Oviedo’s new under-construction hospital as well.
