The developers of Winter Garden’s successful Crooked Can Brewing Company is on the cusp of starting another downtown Winter Garden development just a stone’s throw away: an office building with three restaurants on the first floor and office space, including the Crooked Can headquarters, on the second floor.
Crooked Can hasn’t started construction — that is planned for April — but the 10,000-square-foot building dubbed 360 Plant St. is already fully leased, said Jared Czachorowski, partner in the company.
Matthews Steak House, a family-run business that used to operate in Ocoee, is opening a new restaurant on the first floor.
“They cook only on a wood-fire grill, it’s reservation only, a little more upscale fine dining,” Czachorowski said.
4 Locos Mexican, a new start-up restaurant with traditional Mexican recipes, is also planning to open on the building’s ground floor.
The third restaurant is a new chain called Burger Craft, which has a restaurant in Clermont and just opened another in Altamonte Springs.
Diners may choose their grass-fed beef on a bun or in a bowl and get to create their own personal burger with various condiments, said founder Suzanne Bonham. The restaurants feature “clean” food with no antibiotics or growth hormones, she said.
Czachorowski is developing the project. His contractor is CW Hayes Construction in Oviedo, and the development group already has a lender lined up and is awaiting final financing approval, he said.
