Orange County is seeking engineering firms to help complete the master pump station projects serving Hamlin Groves Trail and Avalon Road, according to a recently published Request for Proposals (RFP).
The pump stations are being built to provide wastewater service to a growing portion of West Orange County. The stations will offer future transmission capacity and improve hydraulic conditions in the county’s southwest service area.
The project involves the design and construction of two new pump stations.
The Hamlin Grove Trails station will be located on the west side of Hamlin Groves Trail, just south of Gwinnett Drive. This dual wet-well pump station will have five pumps with 3,000 gallons-per-minute capacity.
The Avalon Road pump station will be located on the west side of Avalon Road, just south of Flamingo Crossings Boulevard. It is expected to have six pumps, each of 900 gallons-per-minute capacity.
Proposals will be evaluated with additional weight given to the applicant’s description of their approach and understanding of the project scope, examples of similar past projects managed, and skills and experience of the project team.
Sealed proposals are due to the county’s Procurement Division by 2 p.m. on April 18.
