With the merger now complete, Lennar and CalAtlantic are combining their massive Orlando-area homebuilding operations into one company with two divisions, a lead executive with the company told GrowthSpotter on Tuesday.
“Since the merged company in Orlando is large, there will be two divisions here,” said Brock Nicholas, former local division president for Lennar. “The CalAtlantic Orlando Division President, David Baselice, will lead an Orlando-North division for the new merged Lennar company with his entire team and from his current office. I will continue to lead the Orlando-South division from my office.”
The company will use the Beachline Expressway (S.R. 528) as its “north-south demarcation line,” and senior executives with both offices will work closely together to maximize land opportunities for each area.
Pre-merger, the two homebuilders combined for nearly 100 active projects in the Orlando market. CalAtlantic operates a design center in Winter Park.
On Tuesday, CalAtlantic’s website identified it as a Lennar Company, and Lennar had already begun adding CalAtlantic communities to its website. Nicholas said the full transition would follow a schedule that balances needs of selling seasons, model opening dates, associates, customers and trade partners.
“David and I could not be more pleased to join forces and fortify Lennar’s number one position in the Orlando MSA,” he said.
Land acquisition consultancy Blake-Wilder Strategies will continue to run the acquisitions effort for Lennar for its Orlando-South division office, maintaining an exclusive relationship the two formed last year.
