Local full-service supplier Aggressive Appliances is betting big on Greater Orlando’s future population growth, buying a second warehouse last week to expand its showroom and distribution space.
Founded locally in 1980 by president Jerry Jaskot, Aggressive Appliances supplies residential homebuilders, commercial developers and end-consumers across Greater Orlando, and stands out from its competitors by offering in-house installation services and long-term maintenance that is not outsourced.
The company is now based at 617 Mercy Drive, which it owns with a 14,000-square-foot storage warehouse and distribution center, and 12,000-square-foot live kitchen showroom.
An affiliate of the Jaskot family paid $1.905 million on Feb. 28 for a 29,000-square-foot warehouse at 2705 Eunice Ave., about 2.5 miles to the north.
The new Eunice Avenue purchase will let Aggressive Appliances move its warehouse operations there, and convert the old warehouse on Mercy into a clearance sales showroom, said vice president Jeff Jaskot.
“We’re running out of warehouse space, so we’re doubling down here,” he told GrowthSpotter on Tuesday. “I think Orlando has the potential in the next 20 years to be a true Tier 2 city, and we want to make sure this market has a place to turn for appliances when it gets there, and not have to settle for the service of Home Depot or Best Buy.”
The newly acquired building dates to 1988, and conversion of it and the old Mercy Drive warehouse for new uses will be renovation work carried out in the coming months that Aggressive Appliances has yet to hire contractors for.
The seller on Eunice Avenue was Skywater-Orlando LLC, an affiliate of national HVAC distributor R.E. Michel Company, which previously paid $1.175 million in 2003. R.E. Michel bought a larger local warehouse on Jan. 31 to expand its operations.
