It was love at first site between a homebuyer and a home named Chez L’amour.
“They literally walked in and said, this is the house,” said Mahdi “Mac” Jaffer, a Partner with Alpha Equity Team who recently sold a Dave Brewer custom-built home on Alaqua Lakes Blvd. “They bought the house as is and they did a side deal for the furniture to just leave all the furniture place as well. [The owners said] they would just change the sheets and be good to go.”
The buyers, local physicians Sameer Chadha and his wife Shikha Mehta, won a bidding war for the property. They paid $1.9 million for the home and closed quickly, moving into the home with their young child.
The sellers, John and Christin Tenpenny are staying in the area and were represented by Kristin Mazza with Keller Williams Heritage Realty.
The home’s privacy was something the buyers were looking for. “It looks out on to a retention pond and the way that it sits is on a portion where it’s an “L” shape, so the view in front is not cut short by other houses,” Jaffer told GrowthSpotter.
The community has 24/7 security, a community pool, tennis courts, and a park. “It is, in my opinion, the best guard-gated neighborhood in Seminole County,” he said.
The home has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and three half baths. “The master bedroom is pretty big, at 16 by 24,” Jaffer said, and it has a gas fireplace and access to the lanai. Two more bedrooms are on the first level with another bedroom and bonus room on the second floor.
There is also a 300-bottle wine cellar, a theater room, billiard room with bar, an office, exercise room, and a resort-style pool with a full summer kitchen. The enclosed area is 7,004 square feet with a four-car garage.
The sellers built the home in 2007. “The fixtures are just absolutely stunning,” Jaffer said. “The level of finish on the other homes that we had looked at was nowhere near this one. [The buyers] loved the design, the materials used, the pool, the fountains, the two-story screen, the iron doors, the Corinthian columns.”
The attention to detail was something that makes this home stand out. “The symmetry is something [the buyers] really liked,” Jaffer explained. “In the dining room, there’s a wine cellar and then there’s a fake wine cellar, so it’s just like a door on a wall. It’s those tiny details that matter to them.”
