Premier Sotheby’s International Realty announced Tuesday it has merged with Regal Real Estate Professional to expand Orlando presence and unite two of the area’s leading luxury residential real estate brokerages.

Sotheby’s, the market leader in sales of $1 million+ homes, will absorb the Regal offices, which were affiliated with Christie’s International, and its 85 employees. Those offices in Dr. Phillips, Winter Park, Lake Mary and Clermont, will now operate under the Sotheby’s banner.

“We are so excited to welcome the talented agents of Regal Real Estate Professionals to Premier Sotheby’s International Realty,” President and CEO Budge Huskey said in a release.  “Our two firms are so well aligned in terms of our passion for exceptional service, and our union solidifies our position as the undisputed luxury real estate leader in Central Florida.”

Prior to the merger, Sotheby’s counted 175 real estate professionals on its staff. The firm ranked was ranked as the 28th largest real estate brokerage in the country by sales volume and expects to improve on that ranking.

Sotheby’s agents have closed some of the highest-priced sales in recent years, including the $7.25 million estate in Winter Park’s The Vias last year.

Chris Christensen, Broker/ Owner at Regal, represented the sellers of a $2.45 million estate on Osprey Isle. “The series, “Fresh Off the Boat,” actually, was about this family that lived in this house,” he told GrowthSpotter last year.

Christensen also had the listing for Reunion’s largest and most expensive vacation home.

I’ve spent the last 10 years working to build the Regal luxury brand in in Central Florida and have always strived to provide the best tools for our agents and marketing for our listings,” he said. “I’m honored to become a part of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty and couldn’t imagine a better partner to take what we have been doing to a whole new level.”
