Ex-Blackhawk Rene Bourque sells Bucktown condo for $585,000

Former Chicago Blackhawks right winger Rene Bourque, who now skates for the Colorado Avalanche, recently sold his two-bedroom, 2,200-square-foot duplex loft condominium unit in Chicago's Bucktown neighborhood for $585,000.

An Alberta native, Bourque, 34, debuted with the Blackhawks in 2005 and played for the team for three years. This is his first season with Colorado.

Bourque in mid-2006 paid the exact same price for his Bucktown condo — $585,000 — that he sold it for more than a decade later. Bourque, who in 2014 paid $1.465 million for a newly constructed house in the Roscoe Village neighborhood, first listed the condo in 2008 for $699,000. After reducing his price to $675,000 and then to $625,000, he took the unit off the market later that year and proceeded to rent it out.

Then, in June 2016, Bourque relisted the unit for $639,000 and two months later cut his asking price to $610,000. He went under contract to sell it in August.
