PBS' John Yang lists Lakeview penthouse for $700,000

"PBS NewsHour" general assignment correspondent John Yang, who was a Chicago-based NBC correspondent from 2009 until February, has listed his three-bedroom penthouse condominium unit in the Lakeview neighborhood for $700,000, and he already has struck a deal with a buyer.

In February, Yang, 58, joined "PBS NewsHour" and moved back to Washington, D.C.. His relocation prompted him to list the unit last month, and just six days later, he found a buyer. A deal is pending.

The seventh-floor unit has a split floor plan, with 2-1/2 baths, hardwood floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, a master suite with a spa-size bathroom and walk-in closet and a large wraparound terrace that has a gas fire pit and views of downtown Chicago.

"What's really cool about this space is that it's newer construction in Lakeview and it's the kind of place that people can move to if they've been in a single-family home and they want that feel," said listing agent Jean-Marie Minton of Keller Williams. "The feel of this unit is kind of unusual for Lakeview, especially in that dense area. And it has killer views, including the skyline of downtown and gorgeous sunsets."

Yang paid $660,000 for the unit in 2013.
