WLS-Ch. 7 weekend news anchor Karen Jordan and her husband, WMAQ-Ch. 5 general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor Christian Farr, have taken a major loss on their four-bedroom, all-brick house in Skokie, selling it June 6 for $618,000.
In March, Farr and Jordan traded up to a larger house, paying just under $1 million for a four-bedroom, 4,000-square-foot Colonial-style house in Evanston. Last year they first listed their longtime home, a 2,800-square-foot house in Skokie, for $825,000. They later reduced their asking price in seven increments — to $799,000, $770,000, $745,000, $694,900, $675,000, $649,900 and $642,500 — before finding a buyer.
The couple paid $800,000 in 2006 to buy the two-story house in Skokie from its builder. Features include 3-1/2 baths, hardwood floors, an eat-in kitchen with top-of-the-line, stainless steel appliances, two fireplaces, 10-foot ceilings, and a finished basement with a recreation room and an exercise area.
