Retired Chicago Blackhawks goalie Nikolai Khabibulin last month sold a six-bedroom, 4,446-square-foot house in Northbrook for $600,000.

The Russian-born Khabibulin, 43, skated for the Blackhawks from 2005 until 2009 and played again for the team in 2013 until suffering an injury. He retired from professional hockey in November.

In Northbrook, Khabibulin in 2013 paid $735,000 in cash to buy the house out of foreclosure, shortly after signing his one-year deal for the 2013-2014 season. Built in 1997, the house has six baths, high ceilings and a finished basement.

Khabibulin sold the house in a private transaction, so it was not listed in the real estate multiple listing service. Although the name of his wife, Victoria, does not appear on either the purchase or the sale deed, both of the couple's names appear on a mortgage recorded at the same time as the sale, lending the entire $600,000 sale price to the buyers.

Victoria Khabibulin declined to comment on the sale.

The couple also continue to own a condo unit on the Gold Coast that they purchased in 2005 for $1,762,500.
