Chapman and Cutler partner sells West Loop unit for $1.63 million

Chapman and Cutler chief operating partner William Libit and his spouse, Duane Lisowski, have sold their three-bedroom, 3,200-square-foot loft on the top floor of a West Loop building for $1.63 million.

A corporate and securities lawyer, Libit, 55, added his current management responsibilities at his law firm in 2014.

Libit and Lisowski had not actually listed their seventh-floor unit, which they purchased in 2007 for $1.3 million. Instead a broker seeking lofts with indoor parking spaces emailed them, representing a client who was seeking to relocate to the West Loop.

"We were not looking at selling, and we weren't really interested," Libit told Elite Street. "It was an unsolicited inquiry, and certainly at the right price, we would entertain looking at (selling)."

Features in the unit include three baths, hardwood floors, brick walls, exposed beams and skyline views of the Loop, Libit said. The couple added the unit's roof deck and an enclosed, three-season room, he said. The unit comes with three indoor parking spaces.

Libit and Lisowski now have relocated to the Loop, Libit said.
