Former Loyola law dean sells Loop condo with Millennium Park view for $1.15 million

Former Loyola University School of Law Dean David Yellen and his wife, Leslie Richards-Yellen, on June 1 sold their three-bedroom, 2,096-square-foot condo unit on the 39th floor of a Loop high-rise for $1.15 million.

In December, the couple paid that exact same amount — $1.15 million — to buy the unit after having rented in the building starting in June 2015.

However, shortly after buying the unit, Yellen accepted the job as president of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.-based Marist College, beginning in July. So in February, the couple listed the unit for $1.195 million.

The condo has 2 1/2 baths, floor-to-ceiling windows, hardwood floors throughout, a balcony, a kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, and views to the east, south and west.

"We loved the building, even though we were only there for a year," Yellen said by email. "Great location, great staff."

Prior to being downtown, the couple had owned a four-bedroom, 4,316-square-foot house in Highland Park that they sold in July 2015 for $850,000.
