Former Illinois Attorney General Ty Fahner and his wife, Anne, last month sold their three-bedroom, 2,200-square-foot condominium unit in Northfield for $775,000.

The Fahners bought the condo in 2014 for $785,000 after downsizing from their longtime mansion on Sheridan Road in Evanston. However, they soon realized they had downsized too much for their needs.

Last November, the couple paid $1.24 million for a five-bedroom, 4,537-square-foot house in Northfield. They then listed their condo unit in December for $799,000. Features include a screened porch off the sitting area, hardwood floors, an in-unit laundry and two heated garage spaces. The building was built in 2010.

"We didn't realize what it was like not to have a backyard to let the dogs out to run and to not really have any space," Fahner told Elite Street in December. "I've got seven grandchildren, and when more than one family shows up, we had no place to put them."

Fahner also said one of the few changes to the condo that he and his wife made was to install some bookcases. "It's pretty much brand-new," he said at the time. "It's a lovely building."

Fahner was Illinois' attorney general in the early 1980s.
