The local owner of Central Florida Recovery Centers, Inc., is in Apopka's planning approval process and just a few months away from opening its second location in Greater Orlando, a projected $2.5 million investment.
The business offers a range of services, including mental health assessments, family therapy, psychiatric evaluations, treatment for drug addictions, eating disorders and more.
Dr. Harbinder Ghulldu opened and operates the company's first location on Turkey Lake Road, northeast of Dr. Phillips. A second location has been in development over the past few months in Apopka.
Ghulldu submitted a conceptual site plan to the city in late December for the facility's overflow parking and a second pre-fabricated office building, which is still under review.
A site plan for the primary building has been approved by Apopka, and the owner must still complete a landscape plan before a certificate of occupancy will be issued.
"We anticipate an opening in March or April, this will be an investment of up to $3 million," Ghulldu said. "We're a local company that tries to see local needs, and will help the community with this new treatment center."
The new recovery center will occupy 0.52 acres at 1109 S. Park Ave., with a supporting 0.4 acres across the street at 157 Rand Court.
Ghulldu's affiliate LLC has purchased a combined 1.34 acres across four parcels on the east and west side of S. Park Avenue since 2015, totaling $246,000.
