D.R. Horton to break ground soon on new St. Cloud subdivision

D.R. Horton's Express Homes division will offer five models at Savanna, includinig this four-bedroom "Cali" model.

D.R. Horton paid $1.2 million for 40 acres recently annexed into the City of St. Cloud and will break ground this quarter on a new subdivision called Savannah.

The property is on Friar's Cove Road, just east of the Florida's Turnpike and immediately south of the Deer Creek community.

St. Cloud's City Council has already approved the subdivision construction plans for 80 single family detached homes.

Horton's Orlando office told GrowthSpotter the homebuilder will offer five floorplans -- two ranch styles and three 2-story models -- all through the company 's Express Homes brand. Each will feature the builder's "Home is Connected" smart home technology package, and the two-story homes are designed with concrete block construction.

The homes offer three to five bedrooms and range in size from approximately 1,672 to 2,807 square feet. Pricing has not yet been released. Models will be constructed on site.

D.R. Horton's masterplanned Kindred community has made it one of the busiest homebuilders in Osceola County. The company is also actively building in Canopy Walk, also in St. Cloud.
