The owner of 130-plus acres in Osceola County west of Celebration and south of Walt Disney World received preliminary rezoning approval last week to focus the property as Commercial Tourist (CT).
The property owner, Florida Bramingham, Inc., has chosen Kissimmee-based Hanson, Walters & Associates engineering firm to "design a project for the highest and best use of the property," said company president Stephen B. Harris.
The site, located on the northeast corner of N. Old Lake Wilson Road and Sand Hill Road, is about two miles south of the southern property border of Walt Disney World and a few miles north of the I-4 and SR 429 intersection.
It was formerly zoned Planned Development (PD) before the county's planning commission unanimously approved the change to CT. The case next goes before the Osceola Board of County Commissioners, possibly on May 18.
Florida Bramingham Inc., a local limited liability company whose only asset is this property, is owned by a foreign investor. Company president Harris, an attorney based in Warrington, Pa., declined to identify his client.
Harris also declined to detail what ideas the owner has in mind for the property but said the CT zoning classification best reflects his client's goals. Harris estimated more than a year of engineering and design work would be needed on the project before construction could begin.
