If the groom has a Shrek-like vibe and the bride craves a European venue the couple might find a happy medium wedding venue in rural Lake County where Austrian investors are creating a botanical garden on the edge of the Green Swamp.

A focal point of the nine-acre botanical garden being developed by FLTR LLC on State Road 33 will be a wedding pavilion resembling something out of Salzburg.

Mario Draleksic, a representative of the owner, says there are two pavilions planned for the property in the Green Swamp area, including the Austrian-themed one. He hopes to attract family reunion events as well as weddings to the garden and also offer the spot as a field trip opportunity for school children to see nature at work. They are planning to open before Christmas.

Currently they are trying out various crops on the land to see what grows well. A test row of grapevines from Austria are included in the mix now.

While the spot in the Four Corners area where Lake, Orange, Osceola, and Polk counties meet may seem remote to visitors, Draleksic said it is not that far from hotels and the Disney.

"The Animal Kingdom is 12 miles from here as the bird flies," said Draleksic.
