Subcontractors needed for nine Orange County school projects totaling $166M

Eight separate Orange County elementary school construction projects will be seeking subcontractors to bid over the next couple of months, with their construction managers the contact to target for inquiries.

Six projects are replacements of existing elementary schools, one is a comprehensive renovation and one is a new elementary school, according to OCPS spokeswoman Lauren Roth. All the schools have a deadline for completion of Summer 2017, in order to open for students by August 2017.


OCPS will also seek subcontractors for a replacement transportation compound for the school district. Altogether, the project budgets total more than $166 million.

-- 44-E-SE-2 Lake Nona Area relief elementary (design phase): Morganti

-- Meadow Woods Elementary replacement (planning phase): WELBRO Building Corporation

-- Mollie Ray Elementary replacement (design phase): Pirtle Construction

-- Rock Lake Elementary replacement (design phase): Williams Company

-- Oak Hill Elementary replacement (design phase): Clancy & Theys Construction Company

-- Ivey Lane Elementary replacement (planning phase): Gilbane Building Companya contract awarded to the company on Tuesday night by the school board;

-- Cypress Park Elementary comprehensive renovation (planning phase): The construction manager and architect/engineer selections should be announced by the school board on May 10. Song & Associates is the finalist for A/E;

-- Pine Hills Transportation Compound replacement (design phase): Ajax Building Corporation
