The city of Winter Park is seeking local planning firms to apply for a continuing services contract that could run for the next five years, according to a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued Friday.
The chosen firm or individual will be asked to provide services on an as-needed basis, and must have the capacity to handle multiple planning projects concurrently, the city wrote in its RFP.
Services could include providing general expertise in the fields of planning, economics, development, land use, urban design and similar fields; conducting workshops as needed on related issues with staff and public officials, reviewing development plans, mapping capabilities, inter-agency coordination as needed, and the writing and preparation of reports related to planning for city departments.
The contract will be for 12 months with an option for the city to renew for up to four more years, or a maximum 60 months.
Experience and qualifications of a company's team will carry the most weight in evaluation criteria, followed by the proposed hourly fee and references.
Applications are due by Jan. 4 at 2 p.m. to the city's Purchasing Division in Winter Park City Hall.
The selection committee is expected to evaluate and rank applicants by Jan. 11, and arrive at a final ranking on Jan. 18.
