Located at 8505 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, the resort and its country club golf course span more than 800 acres on either side of S.R. 429, just west of the Walt Disney World entrance and north of U.S. 192.
Orange Lake's civil engineer on the project, Burkett Engineering, recently filed Development Plans with Orange County for two new 2,400-square-foot housekeeping facilities for the sprawling resort.
Orange Lake currently has one large, central housekeeping facility. The company's goal is to build two on either end to help housekeeping staff more efficiently cover different villages, company spokesman Brian Martin told GrowthSpotter on Friday.
One of those DPs filed with county staff also mentioned "high action adventure" enhancements. Those changes will be focused on the 12 acres of River Island Village that include the resort's largest pool area and 308 timeshare units, east of S.R. 429.
The pool/entertainment complex includes a large rock wall, lazy river, water slides, large inflatable slide and waterfall pool that will be receiving upgrades, Martin said.
What those additional enhancements will be has yet to be confirmed, he added.
Orange Lake Resort offers "play passes" for purchase, which allow timeshare owners and their guests to play golf, mini-golf, and access the River Island pool area. Additional demand for this could drive future development around the River Island pool, which is surrounded by dozens of acres of undeveloped land.
The company declined to forecast an estimated development cost for the project.
Orange Lake Resorts has not selected a general contractor for the projects, but does have several GCs and subcontractors it uses regularly for its properties, Martin said.
