The Boca Raton-based developer is slated to go before Oscoela's Development Review Committee next week to seek approval for a preliminary subdivision plan (PSP) for the 32-acre parcel on Tradition Boulevard, behind the resort's water park.
The site plan shows a 300-room hotel with attached 62,314-square-foot conference center and sound stage. The hotel is nearly 40,000 square feet with 577 parking spaces. The attached amenity center, which wraps around the water park, shows multiple water slides, what appears to be a splash park, sports courts and a kiddie pool.
The amenity package resembles the 10-acre water park still under construction in Reunion West. That amenity was designed for owners and visitors staying in the vacation homes surrounding the resort's Jack Nicklaus golf course.
Encore is one of the largest developers of vacation rental homes in Osceola County. The firm is also the developer of the Jimmy Buffet-themed Margaritaville Resort on U.S. 192, next to Formosa Gardens. That project will include a mix of vacation homes, apartments and hotel properties surrounding a public water park with large swimming lagoon.
Attempts to reach officials at Encore and Reunion Resort on Wednesday were unsuccessful.
