A national distributor of drywall and other construction materials is entering the Greater Orlando market, leasing a warehouse near Orlando International Airport with plans to open in January.
New Orleans-based Interior Exterior Building Supply has distribution centers in six Florida cities, but this will be its first serving Orlando.
The company sells and delivers drywall, plaster, metal framing, insulation, Fibre-Reinforced Plastic (FRP), roofing materials and more to residential and commercial builders.
"We work mainly in drywall and source from multiple national manufacturers," Robert Strehle, general manager for the new Orlando branch, told GrowthSpotter on Thursday. "This (Orlando-area) market has become very busy, and we think there is still time for distributorships to grow."
Located at 735 Central Florida Parkway near the Regency Industrial Park, the property features two attached warehouse buildings with more than 42,000 square feet combined of conditioned area.
The company applied last month for a conditional use permit for the building with Orange County. Strehle said his newly-hired staff, which will cap out at 10, is completing interior buildout now of the space and should open by January.
"We'll be small, nible and service-oriented," he said. "Residential drives drywall demand for the most part ... we'll be active in chasing the market."
Jason G. Toll of NAI Realvest represented the tenant and located the facility.
