Lake County is seeking land use attorneys to help oversee occasional real estate disputes involving environmental and land use issues, according to a Request for Proposals (RFP) published last week.
The county would contract qualified attorneys or law firms to serve as Special Magistrate (known as "Special Master") to conduct proceedings and render non-binding recommendations regarding land use and environmental disputes.
The county plans to award multiple contracts for the Special Master role to have more than one attorney available at any time. A Special Master for land use and environmental disputes has never been hired by Lake County before.
Previous similar contracts have been for disputes over real estate valuation, which were awarded to Eminent Valuations, PLCC, and Robert S. Sutte as Real Property Analysts of Orlando, both in August 2015.
Bids are due to the county's Procurement Division by May 25, at 3 p.m. Full details for RFP no. 17-0018 can be found on the county's Procurement Services webpage.
