UPDATED: May 31, 2016 11:09 AM — The president of one of Orlando's growing apartment development, construction and management groups paid $1.15 million within the past few weeks for a lakefront home in Maitland, on the Winter Park Chain of Lakes.
Set in the 500 block of Dommerich Drive, Mark C. Ogier of ContraVest and wife Robin bought a two-story home built in 1992 that features four beds, 3.5 baths and 4,907 square feet of living area, on a 0.58-acre lot that lies on Lake Minnehaha.
It's the couple's second home in the area, following a purchase in June 1997 in the Lake Sylvan Cove community in Sanford.
Main features of the home include an over-sized first-floor master suite with fireplace and large walk-in closet, a spacious and open gourmet kitchen with Viking stove oven range and two dishwashers, a large bonus room with wet bar, and covered patio with panoramic lake views, according to listing details online.
The Ogiers acquired a loan from SunTrust Mortgage for $850,000.
The seller, John "Jack" M. Kuykendall, previously paid $517,000 for the home in September 1996. A Winter Park native, Kuykendall is the new chairman of Florida operations for global insurance broker Hub International, which acquired his Kuykendall Gardner, LLC insurance brokerage in October 2015.
First listed in February 2015 for $1.385 million, the property was sold by Cindy Kuykendall of Fannie Hillman & Associates.
Cindy and Jack, originally high school sweethearts, married a few years ago and moved into her home in Winter Park, prompting Jack to eventually list his Maitland lakefront home for sale.
