Prominent local injury/accident attorney Daniel J. Newlin spent $1.215 million last week on his second home in Keene's Pointe, this one serving as an investment property where his ex-wife and teenage daughter will live to keep the family close, Newlin told GrowthSpotter.

Located in the 6000 block of Lake Burden View Drive, the home lies within Keene's Pointe on a 0.44-acre lot that features four beds and five baths built in 2007, with 5,102 square feet of living area.

The custom build features 12-14 foot ceilings, a downstairs game room, office and retreat, a large screened lanai, summer kitchen, pool, spa and fire pit, according to web listings.

The newly bought home lies 1.4 miles from Newlin's own house in the 9000 block of Grosvenor Pointe Circle. That five-bed, 5.5-bath home built in 2008 boasts 6,197 square feet of living area.

"I decided to purchase this other house so my ex-wife and daughter could move from Clermont, and be walking distance from my house in the coming years while my daughter is in school," Newlin said.

"I let (my ex-wife) select the house, and we look at it as a six- to seven-year investment, with an agreement to sell the home after my daughter graduates high school. I see the bigger investment as being in my daughter and family."

Newlin previously paid $1.875 million in March 2015 for his first Keene's Pointe home, which he's been renovating slowly for more than a year, he said.

Both homes lie on or near greens of The Golden Bear Club, a Jack Nicklaus Signature-designed golf course.

Newlin's firm, Newlin Law, has offices in Orlando and Chicago with 51 attorneys and 175 employees overall.

The home was listed by Southern Realty Group, and sold by Premier Realty Partners.
