The founder of two local medical service firms paid $2.7 million on Feb. 9 for a lakefront estate in Belle Isle.
Located on Daetwyler Drive, the 3.7-acre estate bordering Lake Conway is gated and walled. Inside, the 7,158-square-foot home came partially furnished in the sale, and features six bedrooms, six baths, a three-car garage that can accommodate a motorcoach, a tennis court with covered viewing area, heated saltwater pool and spa, a detached caterer's kitchen near the pool, and a boat house.
The buyer was an LLC affiliate of Jorge L. Garcia, founder and president of local medical service firms Orlando Family Physicians and Premier Health Network LLC.
Carol Ann Hewitt of Oxford Realty served as listing agent on the home, and represented the buyers.
"The buyer was in pursuit of a lakefront property with acreage, and they wanted complete privacy. This was a very unique property," she said.
Originally listed at $3.5 million in late January 2016, Hewitt said the home drew 25 showings and several offers last year. "Probably the most amenity-rich property I've seen in years."
The seller was a trust, representing members of a wealthy Asian family that previously paid $2 million in February 2012 for the property and treated it as a second home, Hewitt said.
Built in 1997, the most recent owner oversaw a "complete renovation" in recent years, she added.
Garcia's affiliate sourced a $2 million mortgage from Bank of America to help finance the purchase.
