A local construction entrepreneur paid more than $2.293 million in late April for a new home in Winter Park's The Vias, neighboring the Winter Park Racquet Club.
Located on three lots on Via Venetia within walking distance of the Isle of Sicily and Lake Maitland, the 6,208-square-foot custom home was built in 2011, updated last year, and features five full suites and two half baths.
Design highlights include large gourmet island kitchen with commercial appliances, "club room" with full bar and paneled walls, library, formal dining and living rooms with double french doors, game room, expansive covered lanai, pool area and walled in private yard.
The buyer was Gary A. Jensen, president and owner of Terra Firma Construction Management, a full-service construction management firm serving the commercial building, remediation, restoration and custom home markets.
Jensen told GrowthSpotter he and his family recently sold their prior home on Bibb Lane, which had 4,400 square feet of conditioned area set on an acre peninsula on Lake Irma in east Orange County. A deed for that sale had yet to be recorded.
The sellers on Via Venetia were Jeff and Brittnie Faine and their related trust, who previously paid $2.15 million in October 2016. They bought it after selling another high-profile home back in September 2016 to a South African professional golfer.
Faine was a starting center in the NFL for nine years, playing in Cleveland, New Orleans, Tampa Bay and Cincinnati. He's a 1999 graduate of Seminole High School in Sanford.
Since retiring from football in 2012, Faine has developed a restaurant business and Iron Lion Insurance, based in Orlando.
The seller's listing agent was Cristian Michaels of Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate - Winter Park.
