Peninsula home on Johns Lake sells for $3.45M

This 11,650-square-foot Winter Garden estate home sits on a private peninsula, so it has water views from every angle.

A Winter Garden home with a loose tie to astrology has sold for $3.475 million. It’s called Casa De Leon, named for the first owner’s wife who was a Leo and had a hand in building the estate.

“It’s a really unique house. The people who sold it were the original owners,” said Chris Christensen, broker and owner of Regal Real Estate Professionals. “They bought the entire peninsula so when you are in the house, you see the lake from pretty much every room in the house.”

The home sits on 1.6 acres on Westbay Court in the Deer Island neighborhood on Johns Lake. It has 11,650 square feet covering two stories, a big home for Winter Garden, Christensen said. “[The owners] felt they had a really special lot, so they wanted to build something special on it.”

The estate home features seven master suites, ample entertaining space and a 70-foot-long infinity edge pool.

The house is built in old-world style, but is energy efficient. There are seven bedrooms, all with walk-in closets and en suite bathrooms. “[There are] two really massive master bedroom suites, one above the other,” Christensen told GrowthSpotter, adding they have sitting areas and fireplaces.

If guests need more privacy, there is an option. “Above the garage there is a 1,500 square foot guest house that is really private,” he said. Those quarters include a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living room.

Steven and Rita Hollosi built the home in 2015 and sold it to Jiten and Bhavna Parikh, who are moving down to Florida to retire after selling a business up north.

“He was looking for a house with a lot of wow factor,” Christensen said, adding Parikh visited several times before making an offer. The home has 700 feet of lake frontage with a boathouse and lifts as well as a five-car garage. The neighborhood is close to the turnpike exit, making it convenient, he said.

There are also many additional features. “[The home] has a home theater, game room, sauna, workout room, and lots of covered outdoor space,” Christensen explained. Fire circles are near the 70-foot long infinity pool which looks out on the lake. “It’s pretty amazing, it’s a one-of-a-kind property for sure.”
