A home loaded with new technology and old-fashioned stone details just sold in Windermere’s Isleworth neighborhood for $2.7 million.

“It's very different, and there is a lot of detail,” said Dana Rohe, Luxury Property Specialist with Isleworth Realty. “The guy that built it likes to do things that are new and fun and exciting. He's got a telephone system and television system in it that just can't compare I don't think with anything we've ever seen.”

The seller and builder is Marcus Hooker, who along with his wife designed and built this home on Chestnut Ridge Drive for their family in 2015. They included an array of technology upgrades that also appealed to the new buyers, Alan and Louise Mackenzie.

“It certainly helped this buyer because he was kind of on the same page, you know, as far as being techie, so he liked it a lot.,” Rohe said. She said her favorite technological feature in the house is the ability to control the pool’s temperature, lighting, and music remotely. There is also a security system and other smart home technology throughout.

The home has five bedrooms, four in the main living space and one detached by the pool. There are also five bathrooms and three half-baths under 6,408 square feet and sitting on just more than a half-acre. There is a view of a pond and four garages creating a motor court.

“It actually is phenomenal with the retractable screens and then a separate entertainment area that also has retractable screens. [The builder’s] pride and joy is the palm tree in the pool, on a little island at one end of the pool,” Rohe told GrowthSpotter.

The new buyers are retiring from Chicago and will split their time between The Windy City and their new home in Orange County, Rohe said.

“They like a big house. They entertain a lot and they have lots of company from the north that come especially in the wintertime and so this house is perfect for that,” she said.”

The couple will also be able to have their privacy when they want it. The neighborhood has 24/7 security and the home is on corner lot on a cul-de-sac.

“It’s charming, it’s warm, it’s cozy and it’s got a wonderful pool and the entertainment area in the back,” Rohe said.
