Veteran MLB infielder pays $2.55M for new custom home in Windermere

A 15-year veteran infielder of Major League Baseball paid $2.55 million on Friday for a new custom home in Windermere's gated Chaine du Lac community.

Located on Chaine du Lac Boulevard, the 1-acre lot lies a block south of the Windermere Country Club's second green. Element Home Builders of Winter Garden built the custom home on spec over the past year, which features five bedrooms and five full baths across 6,196 square feet.

The buyers were Jhonny and Molly Peralta. Dominican Republic native Jhonny Peralta played 15 seasons in the MLB as a shortstop and third baseman from 2003 through 2017 with the Cleveland Indians, Detroit Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals, making the MLB All-Star Game three times.

A West Indies-style design for the home was highlighted inside by hardwood flooring and a rear wall of glass that opens to a large covered lanai. It includes a game room with wet bar, and outdoors under the lanai is a large summer kitchen, gas fireplace and swimming pool with cascading spa.

The sale was arranged a few months prior to completion, with a certificate of occupancy issued on Friday when the closing also occurred.

The seller of the lot was Joseph B. Marsh, a commercial real estate developer and entertainment producer behind Cleveland-based Magic Arts & Entertainment, who previously paid $290,000 in May 2016 for the property. His company has booked and managed tours for David Copperfield, Janet Jackson, Cher and other performance artists.

Mauro Costa of Premier Realty Partners served as listing agent for Element Home Builders, and Julie Bettosini of Stockworth Realty represented the buyer.
