The former Windermere home of Tampa Bay Buccaneer star Warren Sapp sold last week for at least $4 million, the eighth highest priced single-family home sale in Orange County this year.

It was the second time in the past four years that the 10,112-square-foot house on Bridge House Road along Lake Butler has changed hands. In March 2013, Sapp, who had filed for bankruptcy a year earlier, sold the mansion for $2.9 million to Conrad and Bonnie Muilenburg of Omaha, Nebraska.

The Muilenburgs sold the home on Oct. 19 to Dr. Dinesh S. Khanna and his wife Seema of Windermere, according to a deed recorded Wednesday in Orange County.

Doc stamp taxes paid on the deed reflect a $4 million sale price, though $4.5 million was recorded in the local MLS.

Dr. Khanna heads Premier Medical Associates and his wife works for the firm as an administrator. PMA has more than a dozen clinics throughout Central Florida, including in The Villages, Lady Lake, Leesburg, Ocala and Orlando.

Insight on the buyer's homegrown business success, and why the sellers lost this high-profile home in a short sale.

Eight-single family homes have sold for $4 million or more this year in Orange County, with the highest sale coming in at $11 million, according to the Orlando Regional Realtor Association. The Lake Butler home was the eighth highest sale.

The home, built by master custom builder Jim Akers, has five bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and two half baths. Surrounded by wrought iron fencing and mature green hedges, the mansion's gate opens onto a circular, paver-covered motor court.

Features of the European-styled mansion include triple sets of French doors, a formal area with arched windows and two-story ceilings, polished travertine flooring, a library/office with hardwood floors and custom built-in shelves, covered lanai with summer kitchen, hearth and alfresco sitting area overlooking the pool and spa, and a boat dock and lift.

The buyers and sellers were represented by Steve Healy of Premier Realty Partners.
