Orlando Health preps demolition for building on Lucerne Annex site in SoDo

Orlando Health is in the midst of renovating and repurposing a 36-year-old building on its Lucerne Pavilion Annex property for staff support and human resources, and plans to tear down a smaller neighboring building that is now obselete.

Located at 55 W. Gore St. south of Downtown Orlando, directly west of the 4.6-acre Crescent Lucerne apartments site now under construction, the company recently completed Phase 1 conversion of a 94,934-square-foot office building to become its new Team Member Center.

A new "front door" for potential Orlando Health employees, this $12 million project includes an 1,175-square-foot lobby area with three private interview rooms, and an open job application area with six desktop computers.

Additional work for roof replacement and renovation of office space on the second and third floors requires further approvals of permits now under review.

The company's human resources team recently moved into that building and out of a neighboring 9,940-square-foot smaller building that had been their long-time office, said spokeswoman Kena Lewis.

Orlando Health requested permits this week from the city to demolish that old human resources building, with the site to later be paved for more staff parking.
