Mattamy Homes launches new vacation home project and next phase of Tapestry

Mattamy Homes USA is gearing up for the next phase of Tapestry, a 1,031-home gated community in Kissimmee.

The Canada-based homebuilder this week filed mass grading plans for the four remaining phases of the 243-acre project. Mattamy also filed construction plans for Phases 3 and 4, which should launch in March and last eight months. Phase 5 is scheduled for February 2018, and the final phase should kick off in October 2018.


Phases 3 and 4 will comprise 240 single-family detached lots in a variety of sizes ranging from 40-60 feet.  Phase 4 also includes 76 townhomes.

Construction is also underway at Springs of Tapestry, a 288-unit luxury apartment complex by Wisonsin-based Continental Properties slated to open this fall.


Tapestry was Mattamy Orlando's largest residential project until the company struck a deal this month to be the exclusive builder at Starwood, a master-planned community near Lake Nona that's slated for up to 4,000 homes and 2,000 multifamily units.

Alex Martin, Mattamy's Orlando division president, told GrowthSpotter ealier this month that horizontal development at Mattamy's first vacation home resort, Solara at Westside, is "going full bore." The builder will break ground this quarter on a 11,805-square-foot clubhouse that will have its own restaurant, bar, fitness center and activity rooms. The sales center will also operate out of the clubhouse.

The center will have a lounge pool and separate kids pool with a waterslide and splash pad. Other amenities include tennis courts, basketball and sand volleyball courts, a soccer/lacrosse field and an event lawn.

Located in the Four Corners area at the intersection of Westside Boulevard and Sand Mine Road, Solara will have more than 900 units - all with a private plunge pool. The first phase underway now has been expanded to 556 homes and townhomes.

A model center will open in the fall and the clubhouse should open before the end of the year, Martin said.
