KB Home is looking at Oviedo for its latest residential development in Central Florida.
The home builder would put together three tracts of land owned by three separate entities to create a parcel of a little over 15 acres for 57 homes.
The proposal is still in its nascent stages, but KB is serious enough to be seeking a rezoning so it can build. The company has applied to change an agricultural designation to planned development for the three sites.
The sites are owned by the Martin Family Revocable Trust, based in Daytona Beach; James W. Robinson of Oviedo; and Peter J. and Gabriele H. Acks of Oviedo. Robinson said he has a contract with KB Home to sell his house to them. The other property owners did not respond to calls for comment.
The land is in the Echo Court area, near Aloma Avenue and State Road 417. The total adult population within one mile is 3,171, according to Pitney Bowes MapInfo. It is 67,437 within three miles and nearly 200,000 five miles out.
KB Home already has 16 communities throughout Central Florida. Its homes range from those for first-time home buyers to those for people looking to move up.
