One of the last undeveloped pieces of residential property in Lake Mary is going from a pasture to a neighborhood called Steeple Chase.
The property on Lake Mary Boulevard, just across from Heathrow, has a number of homes move-in ready as building continues. In keeping with the area's upscale tenor, the homes start at $700,000 and go as high as twice that amount.
The land was bought by and is being developed by Taylor Morrison, which has over 20 residential projects in various stages of readiness in the Orlando area. The expanse, which just a year ago had horses and cattle on it, is now a gated community with winding roads.
A dual collections of homes, one on the lower end and the other on the upper, has one- and two-story floor plans that range from 3,350 to 5,270 square feet.
Residents will have direct access to the Seminole Wekiva Trail, a 14-mile paved recreational path that is part of the Florida National Scenic Trail.
Taylor Morrison did not respond to repeated requests for comment.
