West Palm Beach-based United Franchise Group has an office co-working brand, sandwich chain and computer repair store that it's targeting Greater Orlando in the coming year for a combined six new locations, a lead executive with the company told GrowthSpotter.
The main focus is Jon Smith Subs, which features premium meats like sirloin steak and whole chicken breast in its sandwiches. It should open its first store in Greater Orlando on Sept. 10 in Oviedo (3607 Aloma Ave.), by local franchisee Troy Ather of Submerge Subs, Inc.
UFG wants to open or establish franchise sites for another three Jon Smith Subs in this market by August 2018, said Michael Brugger, vice president of operations for Franchise Real Estate, Inc., site selection affiliate to UFG, from the floor of ICSC Florida Conference & Deal Making on Monday.
The company is seeking end-cap, in-line or free-standing retail spaces of 1,300 to 1,600 square feet for Jon Smith Subs.
Experimac, a store focused on Apple products repairs and upgrades, pre-owned sales and trade-ins, now has two stores in Orlando and is targeting another two in the market by this time next year, Brugger said. Specs of 1,200 to 1,500 square feet and well-trafficked retail center locations are the focus.
And Venture X, UFG's co-working office brand, is targeting its first location in Greater Orlando over the next 12 months. The company's Florida presence is currently limited to one location in Naples and two others in development.
Class-A office buildings with 24-hour access near lifestyle locations, or second-floor retail space of 10,000 to 15,000 square feet near active urban centers is being sought, Brugger said.
