The City of Oviedo is seeking firms to provide Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services for the next year or more, it announced in a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) published last week.
It's anticipated that at least three individuals or firms may be selected for a contract of one year, with the option of two automatic one-year renewals after 2017.
The CEI services under this contract would include general project administration, on-site inspection services, geotechnical testing and quality control oversight, inspection of civil, site work and earthwork, attending and conducting pre-bid, pre-construction and project progress meetings, monitoring erosion control methods, act as a liaison between the city and contractors.
The RFQ was released on Oct. 30, and a deadline for written questions is Nov. 14. Applications are due Nov. 29, a short list will be complete by Dec. 10, and staff's recommendation should be awarded by City Council by Jan. 17.
The city is seeking applicants with at least five recent projects of similar scope within the past five years, at least five years experience in the area of practice, and examples of innovative techniques used to ensure project schedule adherence, among its criteria.
The services to be provided under this agreement will be on an as needed basis, using work orders issued by the city.
The RFQ is no. 17-13, available via DemandStar or VendorLink and through the city's purchasing department.
