The City of Sanford is seeking land management and planning consultants to help it review and update its Comprehensive Plan, according to a Request for Proposals (RFP) published on Wednesday.

The RFP invites qualified firms or individuals to work on the city's preparation of a Comprehensive Plan Evaluation & Appraisal Report (EAR), and the data inventory and analysis for EAR-based Comp Plan amendments.

The city's most recent EAR was adopted in February 2008. The contractor would evaluate the city's Comprehensive Plan, including the validity of its projections, realization of the goals and objectives, and implementation of the plan's policies.

Orange County commissioners are looking for a civil engineering firm to handle a continuing services contract for the county’s utilities division.

The new EAR must address changes in the city, the effect of Sanford's Comp Plan and changes to state comprehensive plan statutes, and suggest changes needed to update the city's plan.

Responses are due on March 22 at 2 p.m., at Sanford's City Hall. Documents related to RFP 16/17-10 can be found on the city's solicitations website, or sourced from the purchasing department.
