Orlando-based Tavistock Development Company is bringing a Wawa fuel station and convenience store across from its Publix-anchored Lake Nona Creekside shopping center on the northwest corner of Lake Nona Boulevard and Boggy Creek Road.
Plans filed with the South Florida Water Management District reveal the developer is looking to construct a roughly 6,200-square-foot Wawa on a 2.52-acre lot at 13830 Boggy Creek Rd.
Besides Publix, other tenants at the Lake Nona Creekside shopping center include Italian restaurant Giovanni's, Nationwide Vision, AT&T and Lee Nails. A 7-Eleven gas station is also underway within the retail center.
The 61,000-square-foot retail center broke ground in early 2018, with the new 46,000-square-foot Publix opening that fall. Its second phase will consist of developing a new hotel at the location.
Earlier this month, GrowthSpotter reported that the development will be a 6-story hotel with the Marriott select-service flag, SpringHill Suites. The developer also expanded the hotel room count from 120 to 156.
Groundbreaking for the hotel is scheduled to start in the fall, with the opening anticipated in late 2020.
Correction: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated the planned Wawa fuel station and convenience store would replace the 7-Eleven gas station. The 7-Eleven gas station is still being built.
