Westgate Resorts is the second largest hospitality provider in Central Florida, following Walt Disney World, with seven time-share resort properties in the Orlando area.
Founded in 1982 by David Siegel, the company now has 28 resorts across the United States. Many of those properties feature Westgate's own branded restaurants and retail shops, including Edge Steakhouse, Drafts Sports Bar & Grill and Joe's Marketplace & Deli.
This Westgate project page at GrowthSpotter is meant to organize our coverage of Westgate's present and future expansion at its properties.
Those include the $11.6 million construction through 2015 of a new seven-story parking garage with dining and retail at Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa in south Orlando, as well as the Shipwreck Island water park that was built through the first half of 2015 for neighboring Westgate properties in Kissimmee to share.
The company will also break ground in July or August on a new $9 million complex for dining and retail at its Vacation Villas Resort & Spa in Kissimmee, and aims to invest $20 million in the fourth quarter on a new 172-unit building at the property.
